Guus Aalbers

Master Student

Guus received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2020 from Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven. He did his graduation project at DIFFER – Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research where he studied all different activation mechanisms in a plasmon-activated chemical reaction under supervision of Dr. Andrea Baldi. After graduating, Guus had developed a great interest in photophysical processes and decided to pursue a master’s programme in Chemical Engineering, with the Molecular Systems and Materials Chemistry track, at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

Presently, Guus has joined the Molecular Materials and Nanosystems (M2N) group to start his master thesis project under supervision of Prof. René Janssen where he will be working with Kunal Datta and Tom van der Pol on characterising sub-bandgap defect states in mixed-halide wide-bandgap perovskite thin films and solar cells.
