Mahyar Taherpour holds a B.Sc. degree in Physics from Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), Tehran, Iran, and obtained his M.Sc. degree in the Solid States Physics from University of Tehran, Iran, in 2017. He specialized in Computational Physics, Electron transport properties of disordered materials. During the master project, he worked on kinetic Monte Carlo models of Electron Transport in Nanostructured Solar cells based on Polymer.

In 2019 he started his Ph.D. in the group of Prof. R.A.J Janssen. His research program focuses on Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) and it is carried out in collaboration with Simbeyond B.V. under the supervision of Prof. P.A. Bobbert. Currently, he investigates the use of the 3D master equation method for simulating excitonic processes in OLEDs.
